SAP CIC was founded to empower the supported accommodation sector, fostering a community dedicated to improving outcomes for care-experienced young people.
With a deep understanding and experience of the challenges providers face, SAP CIC works to elevate standards, share knowledge, build meaningful connections and ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
Prior to the pandemic, our co-founders played key roles in Bedfordshire, collaborating with councils, providers, and agencies to support vulnerable young people in the then-unregulated 16+ services. These experiences highlighted the urgent need for regulations that called for better safeguarding practices, and a united approach to addressing sector-wide challenges.
Committed to supporting providers while improving the sector, SAP CIC's co-founders were privileged to be part of the initial campaigning for the regulation of the sector alongside various MPs, the police, councils and the Department of Education.
Since June 2023, SAP CIC has been hosting monthly meetings to bring the sector together. Initially launched as 'coffee mornings', the sessions developed alongside our community network and partnership stakeholders.
These sessions offer a platform for providers to prepare for registration and inspection, as well as learn from each other and strengthen their networks within this newly regulated field.
